The original set up: stock 650CCA battery, stock 4awg wire on the stock 130a Alt., big 3 (all 1/0awg), two positive and two negative 1/0awg runs from the main to the back battery (let's say a kinetic HC2400). My idea is to instead of running the two batteries in parallel (or inline at all) keep the stock battery alone and run a positive and negative 1/0awg run directly from the Alt. to the back battery with a inline isolator. This would separate the two systems and allow you to run the back battery dead and still start up the car on the first try? Also this would only require one run (if that) of positive and negative 1/0awy because it would only run up to 130Amps at a time. This would be cheaper because you would not need to do a big 3 or buy multiple runs of 1/0awg? Any comments?

RF4LIFE Posted October 11, 2012 Author Report Posted October 11, 2012 You would only have to run maybe one 4awg positive and one 4awg negative from the alt to the back battery, not 2 1/0awg positive and 2 1/0awg negative

And you need 2 batteries in the back? Guess what? Why buy another battery when YOU HAVE ANOTHER IN FRONT? Lol. Look at the best in the world, their setups. They won't run 1 battery for the vehicle (startup and such) and a bank of batts wired separately from the front batt. It will be all wired together in some sort of fashion. Sheena = pedobear

If you need 2 batts cause you have at the very least a decent system? Wire that shit together. Don't try to be slick and keep them in a sense, seperate. And that should be the end of the thread.
