Hey old guys lol. Middle age guys too.

All the old timers that are 35+ will really understand this easier. The topic of old school and history has been talked about before. But I got to thinking after reading the old school forum. Just a mere 30 yrs ago we were walking around with cassette Walkmans or boom boxes with 8" speakers in them. Thinking we was cool with such advanced equipment lol. If someone was to tell us that in 20 yrs or so that we would have a devise. That would have more computer capabilities than that of our home computers then. The ability to watch movies, carry 2000 songs,be able to make calls on it,be able to connect it to our car stereos and be less than a 1/4" thick plus fit in you back pocket. We would have put them in a padded room cause they were crazy. Then enters Ipod,iPhone etc lol. We may be old compared to the next generation. IMOA I'm glad to been able to see truthfully how far the personal and car audio has come. From push button dial controlled radios to remote and Bluetooth keyboard controlled radios. I wonder what the next 20 yrs will bring. Just got to reminiscing last night talking to my daughter about it after she ask what it was like back then. If this has been said or talked about before my apologies just thought it was cool what we have had the privilege to see. Can you imagine what the people that are 100 yrs old have seen.

Even the guys 30+ will know allot of this also. Edit to include the middle age guys lol.

IMO, people that are in their 30s now have gotten to see and part take in some of the biggest changes in technology ever. I can remeber starting school, computers and the 'net were no where to be found in the curriculum, cell phones didn't really exist, and what the hell was an MP3? I can remember my first cell phone, in all its Zack Morris, Saved By the Bell Glory, with its tiny 1 color display, and ludicrous price for service... then when I got my second phone, a Star-tac that had 2 or 3 colors in the display, and was tiny in comparison, I thought it, and I, were the shit! To look back at those days, or my system, and look at what I would even consider to be cheap, not the most recent tech stuff, it is mind blowing to see what has happened... My phone now is smarter than me. Lol.

This is why I don't jump like a frog on a hot plate every time something new comes out. Some of us are young enough to know how to work this stuff and to care, but old enough to remember what stuff was like just a few short years ago. I just hold my horses, wait a minute or two- and then get the "new" thing when it is 3 months old and "out of date" lol.

TRS-80 computers, Atari, Nintendo, Saved by the Bell, crazy color clothes, tape decks, lazer disks, on and on... :D

Yes sir that is true but usually when you put someone under 35 in the old class they get real but hurt. Just 15 yrs ago is a big change from now. Hope the way I worded things wasn't offensive to ya. TRS-80 computers lol that goes back a few lol lol. I do agree with you on that Colin. Or the giant arcade games in bowling allies now 5 of those games can go into a watch lol.

^ that was just before me. I am almost 33 now. I did have the little Nokia that got service anywhere but got hot as an Iron. lol

I almost forgot about proper arcades. There are still a few games here and there (in store entrances, at the bowling lanes) but these youngsters don't get the whole Arcade Scene. Go to an arcade, take 2 pockets full of quarters- blow it all and come out hours later sweating and pissed off. Ahh yes. Those were the days. WHY WERE THE ARCADES SO FREAKING HOT!!??!!?? To make me drink their watered down soda?? ...crazy thing is that those same kids are still doing the same thing- it is just called a CASINO now. ...really crazy part is I work in the "Gaming" industry- Electronic Bingo and some Class II stuff.

How about the mini-truck scene? LOL!!! Crazy pants, bright sweaters, high top fades.

Yea I miss the real arcades. Over heated, strong incense and no windows to keep track of time. You are right they have moved to casinos lol. Now you take their money lol talk about turn around. Mini trucking god I forgot about that craze don't know how. I help build enough bed dancers with 350-400 small blocks I should never forget them my brain is old. Now I miss my high tops and my hawk shoes(converse for the younger crowd lol). I hated the sweater fad. Dose parachute pants or shreds count in your crazy pants I miss them. I remember the first auto reversing deck lol. Played with it for hours thinking it was so cool. Do any of you remember when they put them in the console TV's in place of the 8 track. That was our multi function media in the day record player,8 track or cassette player, radio and TV in one unit woot high tech lol. Colin do you do any vintage game builds?
