DFWxB
Has anyone ever clamped a 1000/1 @ below 2 ohms... i know its supposed to put out 1000 watts at 2-8ohm... but will it put out more power at say 1 ohm?
8ight
Nope. Regulated power supply = same output. Just like them cheap Kenwoods at 1 ohm. I'm gonna hate
TrentonLong
It runs(says it does) 1000watts at 1.5-4ohms at 11-14.5 volts so it will probably will do the same at all ohms. Edit: found this for the 1000/1 v2 RMS Power Rating (11V-14.5V):4 ohms: 1000 watts x 1 chan. 3 ohms: 1000 watts x 1 chan. 2 ohms: 1000 watts x 1 chan. 1.5 ohms: 1000 watts x 1 chan. DFWxB
Yeah i have read the same... but they always list down to either 2 or 1.5... didnt know if there was a point where physics overcame the regulation.... so to speak... SCS_Audio
They have been clamped at over 1300+ watts depending on the ohm load. Its 1.5-4 ohm and not 2-8. We have clamped them putting out 700 clean watts at 8 ohms lol. If you go to below 1.5 ohms, you may see the low ohm light come on. Even if it doesn't come on, I have heard them make some strange noises at 1.5 ohm and below. They also get much hotter when running at 1.5 and putting out 1300+ watts. Also, increasing the voltage on these amps does not help much. They will put out very consistent power if you keep the voltage above 11 volts. As the voltage begins to drop below that, they will draw more current to try and keep output power the same. I have seen two of these amps pulling over 350 amps of current and dropping a stock electrical to 8.9 volts. They didn't shut off and still put up a 146+ on the meter!! Very good and underrated amps. The one downside is the efficiency. 2012 North American Street Stock Runner-up - 150.9 on 1800 clamped watts (Teammate)2013 dB Drag Street Trunk World Champion - 153.9 on 3200 clamped Watts (Teammate)2013 MECA Trunk 1 World Champion - 152.8 Headrest (Teammate)2013 MECA Park & Pound 2 World Champion - 130.6 (Teammate)Checkout our build and videos !! : ) 150+ Trunk Build Log itsgordy1 youtube channel (click for Hairtricks)Smith's Custom SeatsMartinsburg, PA (Second Skin Dealer)

DFWxB
Well i am wired 4ohm theoretical right now.... and was gonna wire it to 1 ohm... of course after rise and even the nominal ohm load is over 1.5... i think it should be alright... thanks for any input... SCS_Audio
Very good and underrated amps. The one downside is the efficiency. Takes power to make power my friend When clamping before finals, we were getting around 55% efficiency. Output from the 2 amps were just under 2000 watts but input was 3600 watts. That's taking a LOT of power to make power my friend haha. Each amp was wired to a single 12W7 (3 ohm) and was rising to around 7 ohms on the burps so it was a high impedance. Are you going to play music on this amp wired at 1 ohm? It would be OK for burps but may not be the best for music. 2012 North American Street Stock Runner-up - 150.9 on 1800 clamped watts (Teammate)2013 dB Drag Street Trunk World Champion - 153.9 on 3200 clamped Watts (Teammate)2013 MECA Trunk 1 World Champion - 152.8 Headrest (Teammate)2013 MECA Park & Pound 2 World Champion - 130.6 (Teammate)Checkout our build and videos !! : ) 150+ Trunk Build Log itsgordy1 youtube channel (click for Hairtricks)Smith's Custom SeatsMartinsburg, PA (Second Skin Dealer)

jg23
When I had mine wired at 2.8 we clamped like 490-500 watts at 13ohm each amp .7 results below I was able to play music around my peak at .7.
