falcondriver 1000 Posted October 16, 2012 Report Posted October 16, 2012 hi guys..new to the forum...love it!!! have a question i have a nissan versa hatchback. i have three memphis tens in a small sealed box...if i want louder bass and more spl do i go with a larger ported box? or a larger sealed box? the box i have now is divided into three sep chambers with about.5 cubic feet per chamber i originally made it for tight accurate bass for rock but now i would like it louder if possible... and if ported is the way to go...do i do slot or aero... and one big chamber or separate ones again?
BASEheadDAN Posted October 16, 2012 Report Posted October 16, 2012 This picture would probably help you out, 3 10's in a 4 cube quad ported box. Best sound.
falcondriver 1000 Posted October 16, 2012 Author Report Posted October 16, 2012 looks awesome...so slot port is the way to go?
BASEheadDAN Posted October 16, 2012 Report Posted October 16, 2012 Yeah, thats what i would assume. A friend of mine has 2 10 inch type r's in a slot ported box 2 cube, and well.. Its the cleanest sound i have heard, waaayyy cleaner then my custom vented enclosure for my kicker 15" l7.
White Lightning Posted October 16, 2012 Report Posted October 16, 2012 Take out the chambers and add you a external port and tune it and just see what you come up with before you build another enclosure ... White Lightning Posted October 16, 2012 Report Posted October 16, 2012 get the precison ports man they will sound the best. http://www.psp-inc.com/ New enclosure ... Good idea But for experiment purposes, I'd just use Sched 40 PVC pipe ... 4 or 6" ports minimum ...
