1988 Cavalier,widebody build,one piece flip ip front clip...a long drawn out build...

a little bit of an explination....for those who dont see it yet....

eventually everything red.....the whole front clip....will be 1 piece....

being built in sections...later to be glassed together to make 1 solid piece

Im using the car itself as a mold to make these pieces...

i currently have 3 pieces made...

the front bumper (green)

and each fender flare(yellow)

i still need to finish glassing the fenders(pink)

pink and yellow parts will join and become the fenders

i need to pull a part off the hood and the cowell

then there will be 5 "parts"

front bumper will carry this thing when its all done...THATS WHY its built so damn strong...and there will be plenty of bracing....Dont worry... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/01nocomment8so.gif once the Mounts and hinging are done

the 2 fender skins will be joined with the cowell and bumper...

the hood cannot be joined untill last.....because once i remove the sheetmetal fenders....i need to go in the engine bay to make all the mounts....

ive got a few pix saved up....

moving on.......creating more pieces to the fiberglass puzzle

here you can see ....the "parts" are about 1/8" thick

ground the edge down....so there is no more "lip" this way the new glass will roll right into this piece....without risk of air bubblez

also knocked down the rest of the fender flare with 24 grit so the new glass will stick

i know how ya feel man everything involving a car is so expensive. expensive hobbies are fun tho so i wont complain. keep the pics comin im still watchin

oh random question. when i did my fiberglassing i had alot of air bubbles that i didnt see until it dried. so my question is how do i prevent that?
