wanting to put a little 50 shot on my tahoe for giggles, its a 2005 4.8, has 120k miles on (most highway) the mileage is whats worrying me. wondering if my engine and tranny kan handle it. What do you guys think.

A 50 shot on a full size truck loaded down with stereo equipment is nothing. You'll hardly notice it. But the downside is that you could hurt the engine. I wouldn't bother with it unless doing at least a 100-shot. Not only that, but there are other ways to get 50 more hp out of your engine that don't require refilling at $5 per pound. Just my opinion. Too much downside, not enough upside. Leave the 50-shots to the guys in hollowed-out Hondas.

I think the engine and tranny should be able to handle that no problem but 50 is so small, you might not even notice it.

me and the captain musta been typing at the same time :D

what he says is true, IMO -

i had a 75 shot on my ISF and i barely noticed it. I didn't start actually feeling it till i went up to 100. But your motor might not like it for one, and for 2, the thing is so dog-ass slow anyway, why do you want NOS on it? Its not even geared for speed LOL. Its your ride though bro so if you do do it, more power to ya. :D

i wouldnt bother with it. a turbo or supercharger will do more for you and wont harm a stock engine

a supercharger would make more sense. At least you have power across the board instead of taking a slow car (im not dissing, i have one lol) and mashing FULL THROTTLE on the gas and taching it out with all it has just to get a little bit of extra speed. You have to be WIDE OPEN to use NOS where a supercharger you are using it at all RPM's. I would like to SC my Tahoe but i don't think i can find a belt long enough since i am already on 4 alternators. :D

thanks bro. I am not gonna tell you what to do but take it from someone that currently has a throttle body spacer. Don't waste your money. It just makes noise. I would take mine off if i still had the right sized bolts to do so. The long ones that accomodate the TBS are too long if its removed. I don't know where my stock ones are. I am used to the whistle but trust me, thats all that thing ever did was make noise and not any extra power. :D
