DC Power 270XP HP Drain

Just wondering how much horsepower my 270XP kills compared to the stock 130.

I know it depends on draw, amp is drawing ~80amps max.

Is there even a way to know?

i couldnt tell you but way to check is dyno with the 270xp then dyno with stock.

I couldnt imagine it would kill much unless youre using more electrical than stock

i doubt there is a way to measure it without a few dynos (stock vs h/o im sure a few runs would show the difference)

i assume it has a larger pulley than a stock alt so a few hp may be lost but not much or worth the $$ to get it dyno'd

anything really belt driven will take away hp

so if you want it back

start reducing weight of other rotating masses

So its pretty much negligible. Especially with the other mods going on.

I am just trying to make conversation for the next three hours. No work tonight, but trying to keep the same sleep schedule.

Lucky for you I've actually tested this back when I was in to street racing,car was a 94 honda accord 2 dr with a JDM H22 in it making about 220hp all motor at the wheels alt pulled only a 1/2 an hp if that under normal load that's with after market MSD ignition which pulls slightly more then stock now under full load ,head lights on ,interior lights on fog lights , and stereo on half volume which at the time was an alpine 5 channel 75 x4 and 500 x1 80amp fuse all channels driven lost about 5hp max at the wheels it varied but highest was 5whp alt was only 80amps being spun by a 4 cylinder so in ur case it might be alight different since your is a v8 with more torque might not be as severe ....hope that gives you an idea

why was i thinking a larger pully makes it spin faster lol

either way the hp lost wont be slowing your 1/4 or 1/8 mile times
