zanekeimigdesigns
So I blew my money on my subwoofer system thinking I could run a rca converter. Well I originally tried using an epicenter plus... Ya sounded like crap. Tried tapping off the door speakers tried after factory amp before factory amp right behind factory deck... Pulled my hair out. Stupid thing is, the sub would only sound correctly with the drivers door open. So would this hlc2 line converter be the way to go? The car is a 2005 corvette with bose. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
SojiaRaggs9000
It depends. Most door speakers are usually crossosed over at the amp to only receive the lower frequencies. BUT Some factory systems like bose have certian frequency cut offs on the door speakers. Meaning that if you tap into the door speakers after the bose amp your LOC won't see the "full" range of lower frequencies you need for your amp. What you need to do is bypass the factory amp and tap the LOC "BEFORE" the amp. Or it won't work, Thats what I had to do with my bose system in my Chrysler any way. Just something you might check into. audiofanaticz
Im currently using the HLC-2 with a factory bose setup in my cadillac. Im running it off the subwoofer channel (stock bose 12inch is removed). So far I have no issues. Previously I tried using a Scosche SLC4 unit and could not get a clean signal out of the loc at all without out constant distortion, so I returned it to walmart. Once the units are shipping, Id see it being a good investment. Unless you buy a processor, but your talking more money there.
