BIG THREE AND HO ALT. WITH 3 EXTRA BATTS

Recommended Posts

Heys guys and gals, Thanks for all your past help..This is my situation. Im running a ho alternator, big 3 done, stock batt up front with 3 c & d 100ah batts in the back. ap30001d amp running my 18 inch pap wmd2k sub in the back. Along with 3 other amps for mids and highs. I went on a trip yesterday to cedar point. aprox. 300 mile round trip with family. was playing system on a very low volume for the whole trip, made it there and i was almost home and i heard like a light popping noise from my sub and it went dead, a few minutes later ihad this smell that was coming from the amp, so i shut the system down, for sure once i got home i inspected everything all lights are coming on but no sound from sub amp, obvious its blown (sucks) so that has to be repaired. My question is all my batts are linked together with out any type of isolator. Does anyone know what would cause such a situation? maybe over charging? i was always told i didnt need an isolator, and all my connections are tight and clean. and nobody was jumping around to make any of the wires got crossed...sorry for all the text in here but i felt i had to explain the whole story in detail...thanks again for any advice!!!

ah hahh...Actually ive ran that amp for a little over a year and a half pushin 2 18's with no problem until recently, in which i went down to 1 18. @1 ohm i know its not stable, but its been taking it...very dirty im sure, act pulled a 149.7 out of it.....but for the dough it wa s actually pretty tough...so i deffinetly dont need to run an isolator?

yeah i know kranny, repairing to sell.....but i tell you, every once in a while u get your hands on an amp that gives out some retard strength!!! I once had a rf 300.1 once and it was such a beast..like it had some different parts inside, idk...you just get them from time to time...I ll be upgrading to dc most likely, this ap ran its course..
