A single 0 awg pure copper wire can carry 250-300A of current depending on length. So unless you will severely limit the output of the amp by never turning your volume up, then I'd suggest doing it proper like. I'm running at at 8 ohms right now, so since I know that won't exceed the current draw, does that mean I'm fine? Do you know how much power it is capable of on 8ohms? I wouldn't do it.
