They just use 4 terminals for the ease of wiring multiple subs. ALPINE408 Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 depends on the amp some of em are just a bog block of metal to distribute the power some like the crown amps iirc have 2 seperate power supplys so you need both hooked up but why would you not run all the power and ground you can? there is a resone that tool makers and other dual wire imputs are so popular Have you ever had your woofers blown?

Basically the components were heating up because of excess rail voltage with no load attached. If it is a 1 channel amp with 2 + and 2 - then nothing will change between using both or single.
