Posting this from my tablet, so sorry in advance.

Just got a single cab F150. Going to put a fairly nice system in it in a month or two. Ive been tossing around a few ideas lately, so after lurking SMD for quite a while, I decided to ask you guys for some input.

So I'm looking for loud, booming bass. I'm somewhat new to car audio. I have plenty left to learn so excuse me if i say something that doesnt make sense. So im going to build a wedge box for behind my seat. I want to run a Sundown SAZ1500 and 2 DD 1510s in a ported box tuned to the low 30s. Going to put a d3100 under the hood, and do the big 3. (Willing to put a second battery in if needed)

Someone told me that in stead of doing that, I should run a singl DD 3512 in thesame style box. At 2-2.5 cubes in the low 30s.

So my first question is; which would you recommend? 2 1510s or a 3512. Off of a SAZ1500 either way. Would butting the 3512 by its self in that big box allow it to get louder than two 10s crammed in there. Or am I looking at this all wrong? Id appreciate all the help I can get. Ill provide additional info as needed.

What are the max dims for a box? Many times slanted boxes are used to take as much space as possible.

99 F150

L 50''

H 23''

Top Depth 5''

Bottom Depth 9''

I measured the dims a few days ago. I am not home at the moment so I had to take it from memory, but im pretty sure its right. And with a box that big, at max dimentions, It will effect my leg room a bit, so in the end I would like to get by with a bit smaller of a box than max size depth wise so i ca have leg room.

i have a 97 and 97-03 are all prettymuch the same, that being said i cant get 23 high or 50 long so post pics if you could. im working on a single 12 setup right now for mine. if i was you id do the single 12 with sub behind passenger seat and port side firing behind drivers seat. it should save you some leg room

Cant take pics right now, i will when i cn. If I fire the port out the side i cant go 50'' because the port cant breathe. So itd be more like 48 long.

Just remeasured it. I can get 23 height but my top depth has to be like 3.5 or 4 in. Or i can do less height more depth. Seems like if i reduce the depth and keep it long and tall i cansave some leg room. lol

So like 48 long, 22 tall, 3 1/2 top, 9 bottom. I could run aeroport(s). There is a metal support horizontal on my back cab wall about halfway between the floor and bottom of the rear windshield. Should i design my box with a lipthat would allow me to fit the bottom of my box to go under that support like this one? http://www.ddaudio.c...sign_chevy.html

Really I think i can do fine with the box when it comes to designingone that will fit my cab well. My real delimma is wonderung what to put in it. 10s or a 12. Im leaning towards the 3512.

i ran an old us amps merlin amp (about 1800 watts at 1 ohm) in my f150 with stock alt and regular battery under the hood with a kinetik in the back and big 3 done, no troubles. and like he said id do the 3512 about 35 hz

Yeah, I think my electrical should hold up fine. Ifigured the 12 would probably be what most people would reccomend.
