UKnoitsMe
OK... so I have a pair of SA-10s that I bought from the original pre-order (2010 I believe) Still in the box, never seen power or daylight. Only opened to gawk at them and show to a couple of friends. The build I bought them for fell through and the vehicle has since been sold. They have been kept in a garage - so temperatures were not at air condition level, but not extremes such as being in a trunk either. So my question is: how long will the materials last before they start to deteriorate and need to be reconed? Mainly the rubber in the surrounds is my concern. Thanks! sundownz
I have not yet seen any SA series surrounds damaged from simply sitting... they've been sold since 2009. Not exposed to sun-light they could sit for a LOOOOONG time. poorfish88
The spiders have gone bad on some of my old subs before the surround. But the subs were between 18-22 years old, Orion XTRs. They had foam surround and paper cone. If you don't over power or clip the hell out of a sub it will last a long time. I'm giving you my personal exp, with subs I'm not an expert like Jacob. I'm I regular bass head from the early 90s.
