SLAYER1805
So let's say I have a sub with a 11.125 cutout diameter in a box I made with that cutout size and I want to buy a new sub but it has a 11.150 cutout diameter, would I have issues mounting it to the box with the 11.125 cutout? ChevyBoy95
you are talking about a .025in difference..... which by the way is a 1/40th of an inch.... SLAYER1805
I just didn't know if that was enough so set the screw holes off
ChevyBoy95
go look at a ruler, and see how big a 40th of an inch is. the smallest mark they put on a ruler is the 1/16, so cut that in half, then some more. or... .635mm which is less than a tenth of a cm. and im not trying to make you look stupid, im just showing the thought process that could easily be used to avoid questions like this so you could spend more time shopping and less time worrying about negligible numbers. edit: in short, you wont notice the difference between the two. SLAYER1805
I had an older blown blaupunkt 12 lying around from a box I got years back and I tried putting it into my current box but it was too small to fit in there correctly. The screw holes weren't even close to lining up, I didn't know how much of a difference cutout diameter made because of how off the blaupunkt is to my current sub so that's why I asked on here, but thanks for the info man
ChevyBoy95
yea, generally 11in mounting hole will work for just about ANY subwoofer that is a 12.
