Decaf
flat response in car: every note from 30hz to 20,000hz should register on a real time analyzer(rta) as having the same level or db in the car i.e. 35hz will be at 75db and 1100hz will be at 75db its a goal to achieve a flat response but most people dont like the way it sounds so they "color" the sound by adding more bass, mid, treble settings... lpf 80-100hz - 12db slope or higher, the higher the better for subs 0 bass boost, so the eq setting on a bass boost nob should not be used subsonicfilter(if you have one) 5-10hz below tuning of ur box - 12db slope or higher, the higher the better for subs and on the eq flat until 125-150hz so u arent affecting the sub much, then do what u need for mids/highs Edited January 20, 2008 by decafcappucino
Torres
12 is about the 'regular' where you wanna tune it. as far as frequencies, the size of the port determines what the box is tuned too. typically, the longer the port, the lower it's tuned. i have mine setup for 33-34 hz for daily driving and i love it. most people i have seen around here tune low to mid 30's also. there was a thread on amp tuning and they talked about slope, but i dont have time to search for the thread Edited January 20, 2008 by ExpoSport
