1997 Chevy Tahoe not starting after rain/sleet

Thank you so much for posting that. I really appreciate that. I thought the vents were in the actual engine area of the distributor and i was not about to take the dist off to clean the vent plugs. You drilled the vents while it was on the engine right or did you take the dist off?

My rotor was not that bad, it was done back in 2008 so it just had a black mark in the middle of the rotor where it spins around to make contact and only the screws holding it down were rusty like you showed in your pic. The cap was in about the same condition as your pic though but not as corroded.

edit: that genisys looks like one hell of a tool. I just have a basic obdII actron scanner that does the abs, check engine, airbag and all the data variables for them.

I drilled them out on the truck. It has 207,XXX miles on it so dont care much about it at this point. Doubt drilling them out on the truck would do anything anyways, its running fine again.

It will probably get a new engine since I have a new gm goodwrench transmission in there with only about 14,XXX miles on it now. But the truck is retired from my daily driver and just a stereo truck now that I have 2 vehicles again. Plus I got more money stuck into alternators for the truck that probably is worth as much as the damn truck. LoL

lol. I know how that is from having a system worth more than the vehicle. My Envoy is the same way. I spent more on the system than i did buying the truck and even the parts i needed to replace on the truck. haha.
