could somebody give me hand getting this.

the max dimensions are 16"(H) x 26"(W) x 20"(D). i can probably go a hair more on depth. i just want a semi functional trunk. and have access to spare tire.

i can also go wider, but then my depth is going to have to shrink.

i can get the right amount of air space, but having a hard time getting the port wider and still being able to get tuned lower (without making the box huge that is)

So here is a suggestion:

Enclosure Specifications:

Fb = 32 Hz

Vb = 2 ft^3

External Height = 14 in

External Width = 26 in

External Depth = 17 in

Port Width = 2 1/4 in

Cut Sheet List:

* All Dimensions in Inches.

* Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts.

External Enclosure Parts:

Front = 23 x 12 1/2

Back = 26 x 12 1/2

Left & Right Sides:

Side 1 = 15 1/2 x 12 1/2

Side 2 = 16 1/4 x 12 1/2

Top & Bottom = 26 x 17

L Port Internal Assembly Parts:

Front to Back = 13 1/4 x 12 1/2

Extension = 16 x 12 1/2

Your box looks good, tuning that low will sound nice and flat but it's harder to get loud, it's all about what you prefer.

So do I want a 2" or 2.25 port. First I was told 2 is small, now its to big

I want kind of in the middle of spl and sq, more towards sq though

Honestly you're new to audio so I think you'll like that box. You prob won't even notice the subs are punchy. Go with that box

Scion tC SQ Build
iPad mini, lots of fabrication, daily driven
Ford Explorer C Pillar Wall Build

Just a cheap car to destroy with bass :D

You want to look at the area not just width, anyways 2-3 square inches more or less is not going to change anything dramatically with that sub, in fact likely will be inaudible, port area becomes a problem when is really, really low and you get lost efficiency and in serious cases port noise.

If you are ok with that tuning just go ahead and build it, you won't get any port noise.
