Wiseracing2
The system I have now is drawing 1200RMS off of a stock battery and 90 amp alt with the big 3 done and im still having some voltage drop and light dimming(inside lights, headlights are HIDs) so my question is, if i added a small Kinetik HC600, would i wire that up with my big 3 wires? Or run new wires from the stock battery to kinetik? and also, would that cause more strain on my alt since it would be pushing two batteries? Im looking at getting a new alt soon, but just wondering how it would effect my old one. and also if another battery would help? wmrcs
Add it to your trunk by running new wires. Yea, it will strain your alt a tiny bit I think but as long as you charge the bats every once and a while you'll be good I think. Wiseracing2
wire all secondary batteries to battery under the hood. the big 3 never should get touched. Okay, so will a second battery cause more draw on my alt? If so, would it be a positive thing to add a second battery or negative? Would a 120amp alt run everything okay instead of a 90 amp? -1994 Dodge Dakota -Lifted -Murdered out -Pro comp beadlock rims and General Grabber At2 tires -Rockford T1D212 -Rockford 750.1 at 910w RMS -Focal Solid 4 at 75x4 -Rockford T1 6.5 up front -Rockford Punch 5x7 in rear -Sony BT38U headunit with bluetooth, etc -Rockford 4 Gauge -Singer 250 amp alt! -Race accessory HIDS _______________________________________________ -Soon to come- D3400 Kicker 2500.1 Fi BL 12[/font]

DubNDodge
Run batteries in parallel, fuse 18" of each battery. With the original battery you did the big 3 on, leave the big 3 be, just run a positive from original battery to second. Ground the second battery to the frame. As of now there is no need to run a alt + to second battery + Edit: Wth, HID lights should never dim unless there is a huge voltage drop. The ballasts regulate so there is always a constant voltage coming out. iirc '01 Dodge Stratass Sealed Trunk Build Log 2008 Honda Fit Sport Build Log On 10/3/2013 at 10:00 AM, ROLEXrifleman said: Anyone who says they knew everything they wanted out of life at 19 can go suck a bag of dicks cause they are lying to themselves or brought up in a cult.
