I feel like its too low of a price because I believe in the saying 'you get what you pay for'. Any opinions on polymer lowers? 2001 chevy cavalier Rebuild in progress what happens when your CD player skips and you accidentally drop a 22 hz sine bomb at an unholy volume on 7-8 year old subs? Mechanical failure floppy sub knockage on at least 2. well...as i see the level 6 is compared to a lamborghini.....but a corvette? i was thinking more like a chevy volt. its cute and new and "hip", but i would just rather stick my dick in a blender.........

The plum crazy or new frontier ones? alot of guns have polymer lowers on their lower lines but the SCAR-17 does as well. Im not a fan of them though. they just dont sit well with me. The only advantage to a polymer lower in my eyes is its lighter but you arent going to shave but a few ounces off going from a metal to a polymer lower. most weight can be cut in the barrel and foreend. It had the trigger, and adjustable stock with a mil-spec tube, which leads me to believe it was the new frontier one. I did see a video on the new frontier one, and they put it in a press to show the strength of it, and it looks pretty damn solid. You could hear the polymer cracking, and the mag still fit in the receiver well, and ejected as it was supposed to. The metal one they put in the press, after taking it out, the mag wouldn't fit in the mag well. Like I said it just doesnt sit well with me. if you want to spend the money on it go for it. You may have good luck wtih it as the new frontiers seem to get better reveiwes than the plum crazy. It just wont end up in my safe is all. I was just looking at the stag arms complete lowers, and they are $300. n8ball2013 Posted November 20, 2012 Report Posted November 20, 2012 all stock ar triggers are shitty for the most part. thats why there is suck a market for aftermarket triggers. if youve never shot one iwth a great trigger though you wont know that though. my lrt-sass trigger is a JP trigger set at 3 lbs. my stag trigger is stock and sucks ass its like 7lbs. my other build has a spikes trigger in it and its about 5lbs. you can easily tell the difference between the three the JP is superb to them all. Are they difficult to install? Im not sure how well the trigger retaining pins will line up or fit on a polymer though. Its not something Ive looked into. ROLEXrifleman Posted November 20, 2012 Report Posted November 20, 2012 In the world of the AR the upper receiver is where the majority of teh stress is placed. The Poly AR lowers have faired well but in this day and age people have taken longer to embrace poly in their AR than in their handgun. in the poly lower the main area of stress is in the trigger pin hole. The same area of stress as in an aluminum lower. The fact is that as long as the Poly Ar lower is mantained properly it should last as long as a standard AR lower. Failure of these loweres usualy occurs when an upper other than .223, .22Lr or smaller pistol caliber is placed on them. Even aluminum lowers suffer from teh effects of being used on cartridges that far exceed the pressure of teh initial caliber it was intended for. Pivot pin holes, trigger and hammer holes can all become ovals over time. If poly wasnt able to withstand the abuse then it would not be in use on handguns which can generate much more abuse than long guns. I'm not for or against it in either respect, just know that there is a place for everything. And a Poly AR Lower is not that bad. In addition, the 4110 price point allows peopel to get into a functioning AR cheaper than an all aluminim one. And lets face it, 96.4567800% of AR's purchesed today will be fired once in a great while, so again, the poly will last a life time time. The average guy, even gun guy, will never shoot a firearm to te end of it's expected life span.... let alone be able to afford doing that! Rolex you sicken me. Just let me finish my pie ~ Juice
