teamace24 Posted December 1, 2012 Report Posted December 1, 2012 Came across an amp that has the rca pin stuck deep inside one of the rca line inputs. (powerbass xa 1500) The bass was still hitting hard even with the rcas connected to the line outs but i was thinking why is it still playing on outputs and do i leave it as is or have the pin taken out some how. Also what does it do to the sub or bass when hooked up to the line outs? 1st Setup(SOLD):2007 GMC YukonPioneer Avic F90bt Audiocontrol Epicenter2 Audioque SDC2.5 15 subs8.7 cubes at 37hz build DONEAudioque 1200d (Audioque 1200d Sold, similar performance to my ap1500)Diamond Audio Hex 6.5 Mids n TweetsCerwin Vega Exl 400 4 channel Bridged(also have MTX 4004 not being used)1 Run of power Knu Fleks 4 Gauge2 Cheap stock Battery setup2nd Setup (SOLD):2007 GMC YukonPioneer Avic F90bt Audiocontrol Epicenter2 15 Kicker cvx (maybe two SA 15 in future)7 cubes net tuned at 34hzAlphasonik Old school 1600rms (ap 1500d sold GREAT Budget amp)JBL 6.5 Power Series Components, Infinity Kappa 6.5 3 ways, and 2 Kicker KS Tweets (LOUD)Cerwin vega exl4001 run knu Fleks OFC 0 gaugeBig 3 done1 Odyssey 1500, 1 optima yellow top d31
SnowDrifter Posted December 1, 2012 Report Posted December 1, 2012 Break a q-tip in half, put super glue on the end, then press it to the pin for 30 secs. Should pull right out ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
LukeYoung Posted December 1, 2012 Report Posted December 1, 2012 The input and output do the exact same thing. Both attached to the board in the same spot. All though normally only your bass boost will work with the input. Just pop off the back and look inside and try to reset the RCA. 1998 Subaru Forester S DC 7.5K And DC 175.4 270XP DC Alternator One XS 5100R Three XS Power XP3000 All XS Power Wire Two SMD 18's I ONLY POUND BLOCKS AND PUSSY
Wicks Posted December 1, 2012 Report Posted December 1, 2012 Guessing the amp is out of warranty. Pop the cover. Use a small screwdriver or pin. You should be able to go into the other side of the RCA connector and push the broken pin out. Depending on the type of connector it is. Its possible that the input and output RCA's are simply tied together inside the amp. Ideally you'd want some sort of driver inside the amp to duplicate the signal so you don't load down the HU output. Especially if the second amp you use has a different input impedance than the first. As mentioned above, its hard to tell where in the circuitry the outputs are taken. Do your gains and other adjustments on the amp effect the signal? If so then the input and output are probably just tied together and you can probably just use the output for now. Guest Posted December 1, 2012 Report Posted December 1, 2012 use a pin and pop it out from inside the amp. this requires you to take the back cover off.

willwork4beer Posted December 1, 2012 Report Posted December 1, 2012 Tiny pre drill bit on the drill, just enough to make a small pilot in the rcas pin, pull it out.
