scooter99 Posted September 18, 2013 Author Report Posted September 18, 2013 So I had to switch things up a bit guys and take a break from this build. Only a short one though. My wife and I decided it was time to get the truck suspension in order. It was lacking in serious order! So I've been sitting on the stuff for the last year waiting for the time to do it, and now it's so uncomfortable to ride in it's just become unbearable. So I started on that last weekend. There is a link to the build of it right here if anyone wants to follow along with it. I'm hoping to be done by Sunday this weekend. We go camping on the first weekend in October, and I'm out of town next weekend so I really need to get close to or absolutely finish by Sunday night. So that's the goal. I'm also now in a walking boot, which has slowed some things down. Long story, we'll just say I have severe tendinitis in my Achilles tendon, where it meets and wraps under the heal bone, as well as I have some micro tears in that area too. So walking boot for about 2 months, and no more working out. I am still doing my Tough Mudder event, which is why I'll be out of town, but between now and then I'm resting it, well sort of, LOL. Anyway, I'll be back on this build very very shortly. Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build
SnowDrifter Posted September 18, 2013 Report Posted September 18, 2013 Havent checked back in a while. I really like the shop and the amp rack is coming along nicely!! scooter99 Posted September 18, 2013 Author Report Posted September 18, 2013 Thanks buddy. It sucks but I'll get through it. I have to unfortunately shut everything down workout wise after the "Mudder" so I can heal up. I guess not everything shut down, but nothing to do with my legs which equals no cardio, which means weight is going to be an issue. So I'm gonna have to change up a lot of shit to not gain 30lbs. scooter99 Posted September 18, 2013 Author Report Posted September 18, 2013 I just wanted to throw this out there. I just went through the UBL, and damn it's messy. I'm going to be starting up a new UBL in the next day or two and start from the amp rack beginning and only do this build. There seems to be too much crap in there, it's kind of all over the place. My apologies for that. I'll let you all know when I do it. Sorry again. I thought about re doing this one too, but I'm too far along now, so I'll let it go. Besides it kind of tells the story of how I got to this point where I am now. Thanks guys! Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build

scooter99 Posted September 30, 2013 Author Report Posted September 30, 2013 Ok guys so this week I'm going to try and get back on the amp rack. Truck is about 98% finished. I'm waiting on some last parts to get here and I'll be done with it. I should be getting things moving now. I'm done for the most part with all my stuff. What's next: Build fan housings Cut out's for fan housings in the amp rack Getting the amp mounts set Cover the amp rack Cover the amps like the first one was done Install in the car and move on to the next part (side amp racks and battery racks) Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build
scooter99 Posted October 30, 2013 Author Report Posted October 30, 2013 Jesus, I guess it's been a while since I posted last. Sorry guys, it's been a crazy last month (to the day looks like lol). I've been battling some injuries, and some other work, and a busy life, and busy schedule. Had a bathroom remodel pop up and that took all my time the last 3 weeks. That combined with the truck lift I did, and some other things life threw my way, has not allowed me to work on this at all. I've also had some time to sit back and think about what's going into this thing, and I have a couple changes, yes again, that I'm going to do. I've been in the world of SQ for a long time, before I came here anyway, and so I've never had this much power into a system. 2 3500 watt amps, and 2 1100 watt amps is a lot of power. I don't quite have the electrical, nor room really, for the electrical to keep up with that kind of demand. I can add another pair of xp 950's, but at the end of the day, I'm still going to be pushing the limits on the electrical and I don't think that's very wise. So, I'm going to change a few things up. I'm going to be going back down to one bc3500.1d, and a single c1100.4. I'm also going to change from the pwx's (2 8's and a 6 per door), and the ft-1's and I'm going to be going to a set of Mezzo's per door. I'll be running them off the c1100.4. For the rears, for my kids, I think I'm going to go against my grain, and get a Rockford Fosgtate Punch PBR300x2 and run a pair of Crescendo CZ's off of it. That will also simplify my switching them on and off. I have some ideas about placement, the amps will go in the well, as planned and that won't change. That will be finished next week. The batteries are still going in the rear cubbies behind the wheel wells, and then I think the PBR300x2 and the 3Sixty.3 will go over them. But I'm not 100% on that yet. Simplicity, and a starting point. I think I got too crazy and too obsessed with my ideas, and didn't' step back and make sure that it could be handled in a smart way. I have thoughts of a pair of 15's in stead of 12's, but I haven't sold myself on that yet. I have to do some measuring and see how possible that actually is first. For now I'll stick with the 12's and call that good. I will probably not sell anything right now. I'm going to build this, and then see what's left and decide if I want to put it in the truck, or if I want to sell it. Thanks for hanging with me guys. I will be back on this next week. I'm going to take the rest of this week to clean up the shop and side of the house, and then after that I'll get back on finishing the amp rack and getting the rest of this moving. That's all for now. Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build
scooter99 Posted November 6, 2013 Author Report Posted November 6, 2013 So last I left you guys with updates, I'd just finished the amp rack and threw some paint on it as well as covered one of the amps. So let's get some other updates going on here. Yes I'm back at it. I got some things done a while back and never posted pics, but then I did a few things this morning also. I'll get some more work done tonight. I'm going to try my hardest to get this thing up and running by Autorama in February. Not sure if I'll run and compete but I know there's a lot of folks that are going to be there and would like to see this thing up and running, and of course as would I. So that's my new goal. Lots of work to be done, so let's get to it. I know in the last post I just did I said I was simplifying things. I am still doing that. I think. Honestly I'm on the fence about it. But I'll make the decision as I get to building. I am keeping all the amps I have however. No sense in selling them cause I know me, I'll sell them and then kick myself in the ass for doing it. SO, I'll save myself the heartache. On that note, here's what I did a while back. Time to get them dressed up. Tools and materials. Little entertainment while I work. Still have to finish this. I've got like 4 episodes to go now. I had already done one, which I think you guys saw, and that's the 3500 up on the top left there. Man that's a nice picture. Sweet amps! Got the second 3500 covered. This is essentially how they'll sit in the amp rack. Close up. And same thing for the 1100.4's. Basically how they'll sit in the trunk. Time to get to work on the amp rack. NOTE - This may not happen. As I said I'm thinking of toning it down. So I'm probably going to do the two amps in the middle but it would be 1 3500 and 1 1100.4. Just so there's no confusion! So all the amps are covered now and I personally think they look sexy as FAWK!!! Now it's time to get on with it. Let's get this build back under way for real! First thing I need to do is get the amps prepped. Make sure they have everything in them that's going to be in so that I can get an accurate idea of where they're going to sit. In order to do that I had to put the Dual inputs in. And I also put in a pair of rcas that I'm going to be using when I make the rcas. That's down the line, I'll have an album for that by itself as well as videos for help with folks who want to make their own. The 1100.4 got the same treatment. RCA's This doesn't have dual inputs, I did 1/0 to 4ga reducers for this. I wanted to have the best power with no issues so I decided to run 1/0ga to this. Also everything will look the same that way. Time to measure up and get these baby's set. Its gotten cold here, and the shop isn't insulated. So I rolled out the carbon fiber vinyl and it was super stiff in the roll, so there was no way to work with it. So, I rolled it out on the bed, in the warmer house, and hopefully that will help flatten it out. That's all I had time for this morning. Ill get more done tonight and post pics of my progress. So that's where I'm at now. I took the time this morning to get the amp prepped and roll out the vinyl. If I can get it done, my plan tonight is get the amp mounts drilled in and set, and then cover the rack itself. After that I'll be ready to put it in the trunk and mount the amps. Then, for now, the amp rack will be done, until it's time to wire everything up. Thanks for checking in. Let me hear your comments and suggestions if you have any. Also, don't forget to check out the Facebook page for quicker updates, it's in my signature as well as the ubl link if you only want to see the pictures.
