00 dakota rebuild started! wall is out! update on page 6

got this to replaced my totaled mustang it has 3 years/20,000 mile power train warranty (engine,tranny,rear end)
little rusty but i like it (even the color lol )



plans for truck appearance
bed liner/plastidip bumpers (bedliner in the bed and tonneau cover)
black rims (might buy my buddy's 20s)
tint on the windows
HIDs/fog lamps
dual exhaust
black tail lights
all rust fixed
possibly different color using plastidip or bed liner


my plans for audio as of right now (subject to change)

Head unit
i have the kenwood from my mustang still

wire/RCAs
100 feet of sky high car audio 1/0
RCAs will most likely be stinger but them walmart cheapos worked for me last time

Charging/batteries
shooting for a singer 270a but this is subject to change
4 deka group 34s in the back (adding to this if voltage drops below 12.6 full tilt)

1 in the front

amps
soundstream 560.4 for the 4 channel

sub amp has yet to be determined im looking for about 5k @ 1ohm or 2 2500s

mids and highs

2 sets of soundstream tarantula series 6.5s

(all of these will be in the doors only! no A pillar/kicks)
stock location 6.5s in the front possibly some silk domes in the stock location (brand to be determined)

Sounds like it'll be a pretty killer build whether you go with the 15s or the 18s! And I've gotta say, I'm pretty jealous you have a 4 door. I'm trying to keep my back seat in, but I barely have any room for amps and batteries back there with the extended cab!

And just so you know, you can fit a D2700 under the hood without any modifications.

yeah i was looking at an ext f150 but seen this truck and decided to jump on it

plus the powertrain warranty really helps

DON"T USE SUBS FOR MIDBASS. the FS on those 10's is at 47 hz., the frequency range will not be where you want it. they'll play that 150 to 400 hz you're planning on like wet paper towels stuffed in a pringles can.

Find yourself some 10" woofers (not SUB woofers) that have a playable range like you're after.

ive seen it done if you seal the sub in the door properly

but yeah its gonna take alot of work to do it right

i think i might just keep my original plans and use the mr6.5s and tweets im not really going for pure SQ so i dont think ill miss the midbass that much as most of my build didnt have great midbass just hella loud highs and good lows

That's a Damn good plan! And I hate u for ur gas mileage. I'm running the 5.2L v8. Amazing 6-14 mpg depending on 4wd and city or highway. Watch ur 4wd tho. Mine is partially engaged at all times. Can't fix it. And where u from? Bottom of doors rust fast around here.

yeah doors on the bottom got some rust

im from wisconsin and the vehicle has been here its whole life

Alright.lemme know how u fix those. I can see light through the holes on the very bottom of my doors and quarter panels.
