412Mark
Do you know what the subsonic is actually doing. I don't remember any of my amps having that back in the day.
cjvue
My understanding is that subsonic filters the lower frequency... let's say if you set the SS to 28hz, any notes lower than 28hz (for the most part) will not get send to your sub. This will help protect your sub(s) from playing notes that either the sub(s) and/or the enclosure is not designed for. It's similar to Low pass filter but instead of filtering the higher notes, it filters the lower end of the frequency bandwidth. TylerParrish
I have mine tuned to 36 and it gets down to about 25 Hz. And plays up to 50 fairly well, I like it. TeamHT
SSF is not a magical wall FYI. And if coils were cooking and spiders ripping then there was some design flaws. I have yet to do either and I put subs through a gauntlet of torment. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
Tim Lam
these are VERY peaky subs imo, i tuned to 36Hz and had some trouble getting the low end notes, but they sure do put out in the higher end range. dont expect to get low with these, but you can expect to get loud. i had 2 12 hdc3s in a 5.1ft^3 box with an 8" aeroport on a crescendo 2k, and it just sounded hallow to me, not a rich full bass. but they will punish your ears on the highs haha
