bass_stalker Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 i'm thinking of swapping my gauge cluster in my 2000 jeep cherokee from this to this from what i am reading it is a straight swap but i would like to hear this directly from some one who has done it. my other question is would it be possible to change the mileage on the new cluster to match my old mileage since the mileage is stored on the cluster. if it was lower i would just jack the jeep up and let it run. but the issue is that most of the ones i find are higher mileage. like over 20,000 miles more. You're kinda stuck with what you got there... As for swapping them out, there really easy. Completely plug and play. Just take the old unit out and plug the new one in the existing ports. If you need one I can dig around JeepForum and find a writeup... sully Posted January 21, 2013 Report Posted January 21, 2013 I know you can order a remanufactured one for GM online and on Ebay that they will set the odometer to whatever you need so it is possible, just never looked into doing it for a Jeep. Joshex Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 I would have to see the back of the bezel, but you can change the mileage. just by swaping out the modules, if they are the same. I have done this many times with my civic. I have had 3 different clusters and have been able to keep my original mileage. Mine I just CAREFULLY pulled out the needle of the speedo and then the module on the back unscrewed.
