First i want to point out i am just getting back in to car audio, and wow have things changed in the last 10 years. I never needed to build speaker boxes in the past, I just went and bought what i wanted and tuned my system. Reciently i aquired 4 SA-8 V.2 D2 for $300 in a crappy box. Their where multipul holes and air leaks in the box, and was unable to seal it. I started looking around at different boxes and could not find one tuned right, so i designed and built my own. The terminal cups where rescesed and flush mounted inside with latex caulking as a seal. I did not feel that that was enough so I routed on a piece of scrap to fit over the terminal to " sandwich " the terminal inplace. . Sorry i forgot to take a pic of the inside after making it. Only problem is I could not figure out how to make the box with the specs to fit 4 subs. At the current moment i am thinking of making 2 more single sub boxes with aeroports leading to the passenger cabin. each box will be .53 cube and tuned to 20.9 Hz. If you see, or know of any thing better please let me know.

Eric Robinson Posted December 8, 2012 Author Report Posted December 8, 2012 The box in the pics is not tuned to 21hz. it is 34.92hz. all construction is 3/4 mdf. outside dims are 31"L x 16"d x 10.5"h.

I get tuning low if you want to listen to super slowed stuff, but I feel like that is kind of ridiculous haha What car is this going in? Do you have any pictures? Eric Robinson Posted December 8, 2012 Author Report Posted December 8, 2012 2001 dodge stratus. trunk space is 15.1 cubic feet. as far as the 21Hz i was told to try it for super low bass. if that is wrong please point me in the right direction . i am totaly new to tuned boxes. currently i have a POS sound storm labs f2.1200 MAXED is 600w x 2 at 2ohm
