littlebuck1919 Posted December 10, 2012 Report Posted December 10, 2012 im afraid to try hooking up another amp in my car....idk what it could be...my DC 2k has zero output (probably just needs a simple fix) and now my RF Punch 150A II that i was going to use for temporary while i try to get my 2k sent off to be fixed....it protects right away...now im not sure if maybe im doing something wrong somehow (i am human and can miss things) or if they're both in need of repair; any thoughts? input? i have measuered it all before (power wire, battery, RCA's) i guess i didn't check to see if the remote turn on wire is ok....but the others had power going through them right at the amp.... (assuming everything is hooked up 100% properly?) i hafta take the Headunit out to check the rca's and remote wire on that end. littlebuck1919 Posted December 10, 2012 Author Report Posted December 10, 2012 i think the CDA-9886 only has one option to turn it on/off, and ive turned it on and off. i guess i didnt check to see if i had it turned on when i hooked my 150 up to it, maybe thats why it was protecting? hopefully its not from dead outputs on the headunit. littlebuck1919 Posted December 10, 2012 Author Report Posted December 10, 2012 if/when the snow slows down, ill hafta find a warm-ish spot to take it all apart and make sure. which prolly wont happen for a few days at least. hopefully its just a loose connection. i was just wondering if maybe there's a chance that maybe its my old-as-dirt remote wire lol its been in a few different cars and is like 4 years old...everything worked (to the best of my knowledge) when i took out the 2k in the spring. and only 2 ohms (had to cheap out on subs/boxes for now due to having to re-budget because i moved out of my parent's place) and its grounded to my rear battery, which is grounded to my front one which is grounded to the engine block/frame/chassis and big 3 done.
