00 Durango V2.0 - tear down and design of new system...

Recommended Posts

1st gen Durangos have a 35hz resonant frequency. what number were you putting up with the 2 15's? and at what frequency?

ive always peaked around 40 and i was doing 144 on the 2 15s. not the best box though.

i think you mean your box was peaking at 40hz. what i mean is that a 1st gen durango's cabin is most efiicient at 35hz "resonant frequency", and beause your old box was tuned to 37hz you never experienced what cabin gain can do for you. i bet if your old box was tuned to 32-33hz peaking at 35-36hz you would have seen a higher number on the meter because both the box and cabin would have peaked at the same frequency. just giving you a heads up. whats the 4 15's box tuned to? everything looks amazing btw

edit: never mind, i just went through your old build log and you said your car peaked at 41hz, but still thats kinda weird how we have the same car and my resonant frequency is 35hz and yours is 41hz.. oh well good luck.

yeah, i have a buddy with a durango and his peaks around 37. its effected by a lot of things especially how much ive deadened my car. but here is a readout of what the box can do. thats not in the car but just modeled on the computer.
