CNF Kevosinn
Hey guys I have 2 batteries hooked up right now and I am planning on adding a third battery. Will I have to put a fuse between the second and third battery or can I just wire them together in the back? shogen
If they're right next to each other, there isn't a need for a fuse not sure on the logic with that answer..... most multi battery setups I've seen on the forums have a fuse from front to rear but none with the multiples in the rear.... not saying you can't or shouldn't...... it's a safety measure... I'm talking about the rear batteries that make up the battery bank. If theyre short 4" runs, i dont see a reason to fuse them. I understand on longer runs: fuse to capability of wire to prevent a fire from excessive current and wire failure
armykyle1
Banks, you'll throw money away fusing. Hell we fuse our front to rear runs with 300amp(250-350 usually) but what it takes to pop a 300 amp fuse, your car is already dead. I fuse my amps only lol TEAM XS POWERTEAM HEAVY HERTZMy build- http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/194454-e46-bmw-build-pos/#entry2914134youtube- http://www.youtube.com/user/armykyle1big build starting

You can fuse to be extra safe, but in my mind, it isnt worth it if youre just connecting side by side batteries. In my eyes, an unfused little "jumper" is no more dangerous than a bussbar

brohd11
Are the batts right next to each other? Because if the wire is "suspended" in the air (if you know what i mean lol), what is it gonna short on? Pretty much useless to fuse something with no chance to short.
