CleanSierra Posted December 16, 2012 Report Posted December 16, 2012 Did he give an explanation as to WHY such a low tune? Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
ToNasty Posted December 16, 2012 Author Report Posted December 16, 2012 its an 07 classic ext cab. and 29 htz is just what was recomended. i want it between 32-33. 29 is way to low ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
CleanSierra Posted December 16, 2012 Report Posted December 16, 2012 I agree 29Hz is a tad low. 32-35 in that truck is where I'd shoot for. I'm tuned 33Hz in an isobaric in a regular cab but Iso lets me get away with it. I'd tune where you want and build the enclosure properly and let the SUBS do their job of hitting the frequencies. ToNasty Posted December 16, 2012 Author Report Posted December 16, 2012 well i would go higher than that. right now i have my sa12 tuned 37htz. but 2 18's is a lot differant then a single 12 ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
CleanSierra Posted December 16, 2012 Report Posted December 16, 2012 It's such a personal preference it's hard to say "YOU will like THIS tune". I personally enjoy tuning 33-37 depending on equipment and vehicle. Your vehicle, those subs, I'd be happy around 33-35Hz. Port area per foot is harder to suggest but you shouldn't need TOO high with a lower tuner. No more that 15-16 square inches per foot. You're wanting to do subs up port up on passenger side? Question about the subs also. So they are motors from SA series subs right? What's he using for baskets and cones? Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
ToNasty Posted December 16, 2012 Author Report Posted December 16, 2012 i was going to do sub forward firing with aeros either on driver side forward firing or up firing. every thing is from the sa series woofers except for cone which will be from a z series woofer i think is what he said and the basket ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
CleanSierra Posted December 16, 2012 Report Posted December 16, 2012 Do you have enough room to fire it to the side? 54" wide is a wide box. I guess if you're gonna be out and away from the rear trim panels you could do that. I'd fire up in that truck though, I've heard it's one of the louder orientations. Subs forward would work as well, but I'd really fire the ports up in that case on the passenger side. Do you know how much aero port you're going to need for that much airspace? Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
ToNasty Posted December 16, 2012 Author Report Posted December 16, 2012 no i dont but im not doing slot ports. im doing aeros. ill have plenty of room if i fire the ports up. and if i have the wooofers firing forward the earos willl fire forward to but on the drivers side. i wont have room to fire them sideways. im taking out the whole rear seat ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers

You're set on aeros, you're set on sub orientation. What is causing you to think the things you're thinking? Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
ToNasty Posted December 16, 2012 Author Report Posted December 16, 2012 well i like aeros . (i cant get a slotted port right) and i know its a differant truck but im my ext cab s10 i had, i had the subs facing forward for awhile and then up for awhile. facing forward sounded better to me ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
