ToNasty Posted December 16, 2012 Author Report Posted December 16, 2012 this box has changed. my question is the new subs i am going to use, the box must be tuned at 29htz. my question is , is this to low to have it play upper 30's to low 40's? ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
Joe X Posted December 16, 2012 Report Posted December 16, 2012 You are kind of low on space for a 35Hz tuning, lower on space for a 29Hz tuning for SA-15s, don't know about the new subs but seems odd that some subs need to be tuned to a specific frequency.
ToNasty Posted December 16, 2012 Author Report Posted December 16, 2012 thats just what sean from sundownonly required. there going to be specially made sa18"s basically i have 54wide, 22 height, and top depth can be 18-20 bottom depth can be 20-24 ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
Joe X Posted December 16, 2012 Report Posted December 16, 2012 You have 13.5 cubes gross on the dims above to play with, they will need to give you T/S parameters and enclosure recommendations for those subs or it will be very hard to them figure out.
ToNasty Posted December 16, 2012 Author Report Posted December 16, 2012 5-6 cubes. displacement is .17 and theres 2 ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
CleanSierra Posted December 16, 2012 Report Posted December 16, 2012 Maybe he's building some with stupid low Fs specs. What year Chevy is it? 29Hz will move done air. Are you looking for an SPL type build(tune higher if so) or are you looking for a wind tunnel? I don't know how musical a 29Hz tune in an extended cab Silverado is(not including Randal aka CablGuys truck with his isobaric Blues audio setup). 32Hz might be a good compromise but if the subs are built for brutal lows they'll hit those 20s without a problem. It doesn't necessarily have to be tuned to that low if a frequency. Without having a clue if these mystery subs, or the conversation you had with Sundown, it's hard to make decisions. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
