Kyle17 Posted December 17, 2012 Report Share Posted December 17, 2012 I got a Viper remote start (can't remember the model number off the top of my head, can find out if it makes a difference) installed in my truck a year ago. After redoing my sound system, I really want to add a security system to it. My question is can I just buy a security system and hook it up separately or would it interfere with the remote starter. I would like to save money and keep what I have and just buy a security system but if it would be better/easier/safer to just get rid of what I got and buy a system with both remote start and security I will. I'll head to my local shop later and talk to the manager there to see if I can get a deal and his opinion (Have to talk to the manager because the installers and salespeople here are severely uneducated.
