Guest
Then I'll still have no sound coming from the subs if the RCA are unplugged dude...what? how the hell is your amp going to work with the ground and rca's unplugged? it doesnt. so why are you worrying about that? you are literally worrying about nothing. you created this thread because you were wondering why your amp was staying on when the ground was UNPLUGGED. amps dont actually work when the circuit is broken (aka ground undone). unplugging your rca's solves your issue when the ground is UNPLUGGED, since the amp is seeking its ground from the headunit...which is bad. with the ground PLUGGED IN, rcas have no issue being plugged in, or unplugged, or in a blender. kandiman71874
explain to me why it matters that your rca's are going to be unplugged if you dont have a proper ground going to your amp anyway? Guest
I think you guys missed a very important part of his post As soon as I put the ground wire to the negative terminal, the red light goes off. i had that same exact thing happen when i had my old 05 brutus. i would take the ground off and the hifonics logo would light up. reattach it and it would turn back off. no idea why it happened, but i had 0 issues....til i blew it up LOL
sayhuh?
Red= protection light? Green= all good in the hood? I think he is saying it goes into protect with the ground on, which is what it should do if there is an issue and unplugging ground kills the loop, therefore shutting the red light off? Unless I am missing something too lol. Blown
iCool247
I thought I had an issue with my amp because it never turns on (red light) when my radio is on. Everything is connect to the amp. The amp works when it wants too. Fuses are good, the amp must be done I'm guessing '01 2DR GMC JimmyPioneer DEH-6300UBMB Quart 6.5'sSoundown Audio SA 8 V2'sMTX RT-202 GONEAudiopipe AP-1800.1D GONE Bass-less
iCool247
This amp doesn't have a protection light, the red light on this amp means power. Guest
have you verified with a multimeter that you're getting at least 12v on the remote and power wire?
