I was running 2 Fi sp4's d2 on a single saz3500 (2ohm) and currently awaiting for the other saz to arrive.

I wanted to run one amp to each sub.

however this morning I heard a weird noise coming from the back, at first I thought some plastic from the roof was broke or something.

but as soon as I inspected I found out where the noise was coming from.

you can't hear it well in the video, but it sounds like if it was metal to metal clapping.

I'm about to pull out the sub and see whats wrong. but it doesn't sound right.

what could I have done wrong?

Maybe the spaced spider ring came unglued? If you got that option.

Well that's awkward... How does a spider ring come unglued with less than 1000 watts per sub?

thats what worries me. I'm staring to wonder if they will be able to take a 3500 ea.

also what should I use to reattach the spacer?? what kind of glue??

And make your video public ;)

thanks, its been changed

I'm thinking it was probably a manufacturers defect since I don't think this was enough power to highlight any box loading issues. I doubt you could push them into mechanical failure even free air.

Go get some epoxy w/mixer tube from home depot and glue around underneath the spacer. If you can get sandpaper in there to rough it up a bit first, that would be ideal. Then stick a couple pounds of weight on the cone.

Ideally: you would cut out the dustcap too and shim the coil so you are sure everything is centered

your going to have to pull the dustcap, shim it and reglue

use CA glue. try contacting Fi maybe they will help you out some.

if the sub was still new and stiff and you tried playing something low lowww there was alot of force on the plastic ring and could have popped off then. ;pts could have casued it.
