CommonSyns
Hi, I'm looking to buy an alternator that wont actually break the bank for my 2000 Grand Cherokee Laredo, I am buying a Skar Audio 2500.1 soon and I need the alternator to power it. The problem is that I don't actually know of any good alternator brands. My local store suggested to me a Powerbastards alternator and a Mean Green alternator but I've read reviews on powerbastards and I did not like what I have read about them. Right now I have a stock alternator and I'm pretty sure that its dying on me because its seems to me that it is weaker than when I first bought the car. Budget is $450 for an alternator but if that's not possible then I guess I'll have to buy an expensive alternator. I'm also looking for new speakers and a speaker amp the problem is that i have 6 speakers in my Jeep and I only have a 4 channel amp here's what I have: x2 Deci Hertz - Front dash tweeters x2 Deci Hertz - Front door 6x9's x2 Stock Jeep Infinity Gold Speakers - Rear doors 6.5's x1 Autotek S.S - 4 Channel Amp. That's what I have for speakers and a speaker amp. I can't hook the 2 tweeters up to the Pioneer Deh-80prs because when I turn up the volume the tweeters make popping sounds. Budget for speakers + tweeters: $400-$500. Budget for Speaker Amp: $300-$400. Budget for Alternator: $450. StoneCold455
Alpine 4 channels are always good. Arc Audio is even better. I am also looking for a new four channel and those are the brands that caught my eye. In fact if you have hertz speakers why don't you just get a Hertz amp? Speakers, Alpine makes good speakers. Hertz even better so you are probably ok with what you have. Just keep in mind that 6x9 speakers are really mid-bassy, you could make some mdf brackets so you could put 6.5 mids in your doors to get a flatter sound.
