Stee-Z Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 ~~~~~~~~SETUP~~~~~~~~ 4 FT1-SE crescendo tweeters 2 PWX 6.5" midbass ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Im wondering how a Sundown 125.4 will affect my mids/highs. They tend to want to distort just a tad when their is hard bass hits in certain songs other than that they are an awesome product. My worry is if they tend to do that on some hard bass hits will they be overpowered? Or will the settings on the amp help the equalization considering the lpf and hpf settings. Thank you for any replies. nismo114 Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 why do you have 4 tweeters and only 2 mids? you need to get a bass blocker for your mids and or cross them over correctly. edit: also why are the tweeter cross over on the head unit? it should be on the amp? get pyle on the inside of your butt cheeks...so every day you can take a pyle of shit

Decaf Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 you need to HighPassFilter the mids, that is why the bass is ruining them, and likely could cause damage if you keep playing it In my experience, those need a crossover at 100hz@-12dB or higher, I run mine at 125hz@-12dB currently when playing heavy bass, 100hz@-12db for rock/other The tweeters are fine that way, likely overpowering the mids but you can always fade whatever channels they are on
