Hey guys ive got four Vvx 12's with a sk2500 in my trailblazer. Im wanting to do a rebuild to a 4th order. But this is the first one ive tried to do so im sorta lost. I understand the 2:1 ratios and all but the overall design, shape, and tuning im kinda lost. If anyone would be willing to help it would be great. Any info that i need to add please ask. Im wanting to produce some epic lows and have it tuned anywhere from 29-31 hz. thanks guys

You don't tune a 4th order that low. You tune low to mid 40s typically. 2:1 is a good starting point for ratio, but testing is key with a 4th order. Are you in a ported box currently with these subs?

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

If you want a really good design go through ram designs i just finished my box, it is a 4th order with a 2:1 ratio 2.1 sealed and 4.75 ported tuned to 45hz. I dropped the lowpass filter to the lowest setting i can play all of decafs music i want to try to find some lower stuff lowest i have is liike 25-26 and it plays it with authority.

I think you should tune your bandpass to where the impedance of the sealed section is highest...

How would i do that? I know how to check impedance but not how to check just the sealed side?

lol thats probably not gonna happen. 4th orders are WAY bigger than standard ported boxes.

You build the sealed section first and then do an impedance sweep through it. Then you build the loading wall/port.

I just built my box tuned to 45 and hoped for the best and it sounds pretty good to me
