question for ppl with blazers... where to run wires

I have a 4.3l 99 blazer and ive had problems where to run my wire. ive dropped straight down from the battery to the back and it workd good for about 4 months till it hit the engine block and melted to it and where the audio shop ran my old 4 gauge i dont see how they got where it went thru the fire wall. does anyone have any suggestion that has a blazer

OR you could secure the wire better, the way you used to have it, before it melted.

well ill admit i was really new to car audio when i ran that wire but i have learned my lesson bc i was on the highway 200miles away from home when it grounded itself

I drilled through under the dash on the passenger side, i also used heat shrouds to protect the wires by the engine. There's pictures in my build log of it.

I ran my positives (3runs) under the truck

And the 3 negatives under the pasanger seat (I was planning on running all under the truck until the tranny blew)

Just make sure to fuse both ends either before the batts or before the amp if your not running multiple batteries

Grommets if the wire could come in contact with sharp edges

And insulation if its buy a heat source
