just got my 2 sa-12's, on a zx2500.1, and they love it, smooth bass, tight even in ported, and its like someone stomping on your chest, its awesome

SA-12s on a 2500w amp? wouldn't that be too much juice and fry them? sorry idk much about this stuff really but I'm probably a little overly cautious about overpowering my subs after I bought my first 15s and fried them the first day I put them in

Thanks I was pretty excited about the alt myself. kind of like a school girl, in a dress, on a swing. lol

Buy a reducer http://www.ebay.com/...=item35c18b4fd9, it´s good to have the big wire´s in caraudio.

yea I did that after I realized what had happened but it's kinda late now since I already fried it... I was trying to switch it out for the reducer when I broke the terminal tryina get the wire out and put the reducer in.

Yea I wouldn't suggest over powering your woofers, maybe a little bigger amp than their rated at to account for lower than perfect voltage would be cool. I assume since your just starting out, you'll be more than happy with a 750w setup as long as its all installed and setup right.

you do realize they way underrate there subs, people have thrown 3000k to one sub in burbs, one guy did 4k to one sub, and plenty run a saz-3500 on 2 of them daily, ha ha, so a 2500.1 is nothing, they still are begging for more, and a ported box helps with cooling a ton, now if you throw that much power and its clipped, you might burn some coils, but recones are only like $40 each, so no issue :P 600 watts barely gets them movin :P

Ok, I just don't want anyone new to the scene screwing something up. Also I want their new equipment to last. They can mechanically fail on daily high power. Plus its not cheap to be able to power a ~2500rms setup.

But yea I know they are built well, if I could afford a larger amp I would throw it on my E's but i've kind picked up on what to listen for and smell ya know?

I'm not quite "just starting out"... I've had subs of some kind hooked up in my car for about 2 or 3 years... I'm not a seasoned vet but my last setup was an 1800w amp on 2 Audiopipe TXX 15s... and I had that for a year... just had it hooked up in a bad way and wound up screwing it up and I'm poor and can't afford to go getting some high end stuff like what the big boys are running and I'm in a trunk so I don't really wanna go too much bigger than where I am now anyway... but no I would prefer more than 750w setup lol I'm also a bass player so I'm used to the thump of bass and I like alot of it :rockwoot::rocking:

for the time being at least I think I'm going to stick with the subs I have actually since to my knowledge they are still runnin just fine and there's no reason to switch them out and they're rated at 1000w RMS a piece and are already broken in... and then go with a 2k-2.4k amp.

Thanks I was pretty excited about the alt myself. kind of like a school girl, in a dress, on a swing. lol

umm... just thought of something though... it was a while ago that I pulled my old amp out of my car and I don't think I marked which wire is positive and which is negative... is there a way to tell without pulling them out and following the wires? and what would happen if they got switched?

I've got it wired down to 1ohm
