bassfreake Posted January 14, 2013 Report Posted January 14, 2013 I currently have a pair of Audiopipe TXX 15s which are pretty good I think but right now don't have them hooked up cuz I screwed up my amp. once I have some money again I am looking to at least get a new amp haven't decided yet if I'm getting new subs too or just gna stick with what I got. Before I fried my amp I was working on doing a full out Audiopipe system was gna do speakers and everything too but I'm not quite as dead set on Audiopipe anymore and would like to get some opinions on some good quality subs and amps that are out there that are reasonably priced. Was kinda looking at maybe going with Kicker and going for some SoloBaricks cuz I've been told that they put out the sound tone of one size larger (12s sound like 15s 15s sound like 18s 10s sound like 12s etc) which would be kinda cool cuz I really like the richness of the bigger subs which is why right now I've crammed a pair of 15s into the trunk of my Ford Taurus, but if I could get the same tone out of something smaller or stay with the same size and get an even deeper/richer tone I think that would be awesome. Anyone thoughts on any of this? Lurk around on SMD and see what other people are doing right... Do your own research and find out what's best for you. Kicker is junk and for the 1 guy on here with a sick kicker system (forgot his name) with that kinda time and craftsmanship he can make anything sound and look good. And maybe you should steer away from audio pipe towards like 2 sundown E10's and a Soundqubed Q1-750 amplifier or a rockford fosgate prime r-750. You put some work into building a nice strong and correctly designed box, and I bet you'll be satisfied. I mean why do you think its fried? well idk the amp might still work on the inside but I fried the wire going into it because of some stupid setting up on my part and melted the wire and the terminal and wound up breaking the terminal trying to get the wire out... so unless I can fix the terminal I can't really use the amp and I don't have any clue the first thing about how to fix the terminal. bassfreake Posted January 14, 2013 Author Report Posted January 14, 2013 I had been suggested by a car audio guy at the local shop that since I had a 0/1 AWG running from my battery but my amp terminal would only take a 4AWG that I could just jerryrig it and put the 0/1 into one end of one of my extra fuses and put the 4 into the other end... turns out that was a really bad idea and after a few months of running that I wound up completely melting the 4 and it fused to the terminal on the power input side Thanks I was pretty excited about the alt myself. kind of like a school girl, in a dress, on a swing. lol It's warming up enough that the donut-punching cyclist douchenozzles are getting their two wheeled fagmobiles out.
