Mobileaudio25 Posted January 18, 2013 Report Posted January 18, 2013 I run two hifonics 1200.1s and I know 3 other people that have ran them... I love them. Awesome little amps
Varco Posted January 18, 2013 Report Posted January 18, 2013 I have a brutus 1700 right now and ive got to say, its great for the price.
Raptorman Posted January 18, 2013 Report Posted January 18, 2013 Great amp for the price. Just be prepared to upgrade some electrical a bit. Black Viper Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 I have had no problems with Hifonics amps. I have the Collossus LTE on 3 - 12" Alpine Type Rs. This amp gives it plenty of power and it never heats up. In fact, the Zeus 80.4 that I have on my door speakers gets hotter than it. But haven't had an issue with them so far. Can't speak on Crescendo amps but I keep hearing good things from them. I think at the end it all boils down to what your budget is and what goal your trying to achieve.
wellington Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 they are great budget amps but i'd much rather save up and get the better amp. This. All BS aside, the fact is: they market their amps to be flashy and shiny. Terminal illumination, light-up logo. CHROME, CHROME, and more CHROME. chain link...etc. Lots of people report NOT DOING ACTUAL RMS RATINGS. The 2400 doing only 1800.... It seems to buy a hifonics amp is a gamble and you can probably start a local bet with your buddies on how close to actual RMS wattage the amp does. Kinda like on the price is right. Final thought: hifonics is good for your first amp. But you save up for something like DC, DD, sundown. You can find GREAT prices on them from craigslist. If you do go hifonics, get them from sonic electronics. They are $124 for the 1krms vs $200-$300 at frys. 2010 HHR LT - DNX 6160 - sony xec-700 - sony xm-4040 for door mids - XM-6020 for tweets in a-pillar - saz1500d v1 - VVME RD-12 1.75 f^3 32hz guru and president of the "cheap asses trying to beat up the block with bargain bin woofers" club
bassfreake Posted January 25, 2013 Author Report Posted January 25, 2013 ok awesome thanks for the input I think I can probably hold out and get something nicer... especially if I can race against the clock and get some money together and grab one of those AQ amps before they finish switching over to Q amps Thanks I was pretty excited about the alt myself. kind of like a school girl, in a dress, on a swing. lol It's warming up enough that the donut-punching cyclist douchenozzles are getting their two wheeled fagmobiles out. Carbon Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 I run a hifonics but I want a better amp. I choose the crescendo 5500 and DC 5k would suit my needs best!
rbeticio Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 I, like me some hifonics, but if you can get a deal on something good used, is go with that. I might be picking up a used Stetsom 7k for the price of two bre2500.1s. U just gotta find a deal.
