AZaudio Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 Trying to get my gains with a dmm. just wondering what how many watts rms is my amp getting with a sub wired @ 0.75, and what should the output voltage be? AZaudio Posted January 28, 2013 Author Report Posted January 28, 2013 Anyone? Its currently set at 39.1 VAC. Waiting on my dd-1 to come in too... Carbon Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Youll need a clamp meter bro, not a multimeter
SnowDrifter Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 .75 reactive? Protect, if not - magic smoke most likely. .75 nominal? No one knows. Box rise and voltage play a key role here and they can vary significantly from install to install. I wouldn't be too concerned in a daily car ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
AZaudio Posted January 28, 2013 Author Report Posted January 28, 2013 Well I figured there was a formula which could give me an idea of how many watts I was getting on 0.75 ohms at 14.4v. Since I can't go by the specs for 2200 @ 1ohm which would be 46.9vac. SnowDrifter Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Yes, you can go by the 1 ohm spec. ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
SnowDrifter Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Decreasing the nominal impedance doesn't change how you set your amp with a DMM, Oscope, DD-1, or any other method. Why not just keep your settings where they are now and wait a couple days for the DD-1? ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444

Raptorman Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 You can use a multimeter...
