Looking for a custom home audio setup. Need help

Recommended Posts

Update..i have no problem making my own enclosures. I was assuming you guys would hook me up with some speaker selections and receiver selections. Im just not familiar how everything translates to home audio (mainly how to power the mofos)

I built my home theater setup for about $1200 by looking locally...

Currently running:

Paradigm Monitor 11's (Front left and right)

Paradigm CC590 (Center channel)

1 12" Paradigm Sub

1 8" t-line sub bought off a buddy that he built from a custom 8"woofer

Paradigm Bi-pole surround Speakers

all powered from a Onkyo Reciever 7.1 that makes about 100w per channel

Got it all for $1200 and i still have front left, right, center, and 2 surrounds from another paradigm kit laying around..lol

It is STUPID LOUD and super clear.. Best investment i've ever made..

that 12" paradigm is self powered

2006 Silverado Ext. Cab

6-15" SSA ZCONS

4th Order Blow-Through

Pioneer AVH-P4200dvd

American Bass VFL 1100.1 12 volt

6 C&D Batteries

2-350A Singer Alternators and Stock Alt

DC Power Triple Alt Kit

MLA Module

3 Runs of 1/0

2 Sets of Boston Acoustics 6.5 Pro Components

Boston Acoustics 2-channel

As for custom building I would go 3 way towers for the fronts with http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=295-320, http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=295-305, http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=275-070, and http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=260-152. For surrounds I would go with the same 6.5 and tweeter as the front 3 ways but with this crossover http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=260-146. As for a center channel I would use two of these in series to achieve 8 ohms for the low end http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=295-309 with the same crossover as the surrounds and the same tweeter all around.
