Question about bypass module

Recommended Posts

So I'm going to install a viper 5701 in my 1999 Durango. And need to know if I need a bypass module.

I looked at this website but still confused. http://www.directwholesale.net/diagrams/diagrams.asp?link=DW

Iv seen a box in my dash looks like a bypass but it could also be the factory alarm. Iv seen some spliced wires under my steering wheel.

do you mean for a transponder key? in the 99 Durango, if you have a black ignition key you don' t have a transponder key. If the key is gray, you do. I believe that the 99 does not need a bypass. You still may have to disarm a factory alarm, though.

So, I don't have anything cool here yet. It's no big deal

I have a black key. How would I disarm it? Just disconnect the connections?
