stroupe79 Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 your max dimensions you can use would be a good start....I am sure somebody here can help put something together for you, guys are quite helpful with box advice http://www.stevemead...cherokee-build/ 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Alpine CDE-hd148bt Alpine PKG-RSE2 PRV Audio (4) 6MB200 front/rear doors PRV Audio (4) TW350Ti dash/rear doors Kicker KX350.4 Obsidian Audio (1) 18 D4 v2 revamp (2) Stereo Integrity HT 18d2DC Audio 1.2k5.25ft^3 tuned @34hz revamp Infinite Baffle Cpillar AudioTechnix 60mil deadenerKnuKonceptz & SkyHigh wire (complete setup)
DylanBunch Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 My friend has an L7 15 in a sealed 4 cuft box and it plays 26-35 hz really good and its on 200 watts less than my Rockford T2 15 in a ported box. My point being l7s sound good in sealed boxes and you havent built a box before so a sealed box for that sub might not be a bad idea 2006 Ford Explorer 2 Team AA/Sundown 15s 6th order Ct Sounds 7k 4 PRV Mr500 8s Rockford p1000-2 Team Subsonic Lows
Guest Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 how do you know that you want it tuned that low? you are aware that it's completely possible to play low with a higher tuning, right? also, l7s hate sealed boxes.
kidd666 Posted January 29, 2013 Author Report Posted January 29, 2013 i got it in a seled box and i didnt really like the sound. i know its just a factory box and its probably not big enough for it anyways.
kidd666 Posted January 29, 2013 Author Report Posted January 29, 2013 i did not know that. ive always just thought that u need it tuned low to hit the low
stroupe79 Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 ported is recommended 3-6cubes....I would do 3cubes sub forward, port to the side and tune around 33-35hz personally, depending on how much power your running to it http://www.stevemead...cherokee-build/ 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Alpine CDE-hd148bt Alpine PKG-RSE2 PRV Audio (4) 6MB200 front/rear doors PRV Audio (4) TW350Ti dash/rear doors Kicker KX350.4 Obsidian Audio (1) 18 D4 v2 revamp (2) Stereo Integrity HT 18d2DC Audio 1.2k5.25ft^3 tuned @34hz revamp Infinite Baffle Cpillar AudioTechnix 60mil deadenerKnuKonceptz & SkyHigh wire (complete setup)
Guest Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 3 cubes ported? are you insane? more like 4.5 to 5 or so. they like big boxes. also, no. it's a misconception. you tune that low and you're going to lose high end output
kidd666 Posted January 29, 2013 Author Report Posted January 29, 2013 ok so i have 24" from the back of the cab to my seat, 60" side to side, and 48" top to bottom
teamace24 Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 Ive built plenty of boxes for kickers specifically the cvx, l7, and cvr models. They are perfectly fine for a 15 to run them in 3.5 cubes net. At this volume you can tune a little higher to say 36hz and still hit low to 30hz no problem. If you decide to go a little more on the volume like say 4-4.5 cubes net then tune it to 32hz. It really depends on your music preferences, if you like a varirty of music from rock techno to rap then do 3.5-4 net tuned to 34-36hz. 1st Setup(SOLD):2007 GMC YukonPioneer Avic F90bt Audiocontrol Epicenter2 Audioque SDC2.5 15 subs8.7 cubes at 37hz build DONEAudioque 1200d (Audioque 1200d Sold, similar performance to my ap1500)Diamond Audio Hex 6.5 Mids n TweetsCerwin Vega Exl 400 4 channel Bridged(also have MTX 4004 not being used)1 Run of power Knu Fleks 4 Gauge2 Cheap stock Battery setup2nd Setup (SOLD):2007 GMC YukonPioneer Avic F90bt Audiocontrol Epicenter2 15 Kicker cvx (maybe two SA 15 in future)7 cubes net tuned at 34hzAlphasonik Old school 1600rms (ap 1500d sold GREAT Budget amp)JBL 6.5 Power Series Components, Infinity Kappa 6.5 3 ways, and 2 Kicker KS Tweets (LOUD)Cerwin vega exl4001 run knu Fleks OFC 0 gaugeBig 3 done1 Odyssey 1500, 1 optima yellow top d31
