Anyone have any advice or links on how to polish aluminum. The center rib may pose an issue as it was wire edm'd out and left a rough finish.

Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed.
Blue Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 As far as I know its going to take a lot of sanding and a lot of polishing formerly known as Blue86f150 its a 4th order just because its tuned in the 40z doesnt mean it wont reach down and jiggle your balls at sub 30 hz frequencies. Regardless if they were dipped platinum and were stuffed in Beyonce's twat.....way too fucking exspensive this sux camel dicks
cvxsmitty58 Posted February 1, 2013 Author Report Posted February 1, 2013 Yeah i was thinking it would probably take a long time to get it looking good. Who knows we may just leave the machine marks in it or do a swirl finish on the side plates. I'm a little hesitant to do anything crazy on the center rib as that was about a grand worth of aluminum plus the hours of programming and machining. Also, its only .125" thick in some spots. The finish it has now would probably take paint well. We just started today mocking up the gearbox into the car. I'll add more pics tomorrow.
