Obamacare to be $20,000 per year

Recommended Posts

so if we don"t pay the fine (tax), are they going to put us in jail? What happens when the jails are all full with people that didn't pay the fine for not having government mandated health care, and they don't have any where to put the murders and child molesters.

everyone pays as a trade off to no one can be denied. you tell insurance that they cant deny people then everyone could not pay for insurance until they are sick. then once they are better, they stop paying for it. that's what damn near everyone would do, and you know it. so this is the trade off. it does have it's benefits.

im not in support or objection to obamacare, I'm just pointing that out.

I would be behind what you are saying if it was an affordable option...but 20k a year is far from that...especially for a family. I pay for my insurance already..but its not nearly 20k a year..

What I'm scared of is if they come out with this forced insurance that is 20k a year...any insurance company offering competitive pricing now will raise their pricing to slightly below that...maybe 19k or something...because they will still get the business being its less then obamacare. Right now they try to get your business...I switched a few times and ended on the same provider because I could get them to drop their price enough....that will be long gone if the law requires you to have it.

Kinda like if the law says you must buy a soda everyday...1 soda....The price of Soda would go way up because you are being forced to purchase it theres nothing you can say or do about it.

Hopefully the next president or group of elected officials/congress etc... doesnt have their heads up their asses and can put together a better bill or get rid of this "obamacare"

And to the comments about not doing anything...I wanna know how anyone thinks that us ,as an individual, even has a voice in politics. I've written letters to congressmen/women and local newspapers...I don't have a problem getting friends to write them too or sign mine when writing to our states elected officials. The truth is my voice is lost...especially in the state I'm in (Cali). Unless you are famous, (Brad Pitt, Angelina, Cyrus famous) or already a politician your letters or opinion don't matter to anyone outside your inner circle.

Consider for a moment if you are making minimum wage, as many do. Try coming up with

true, that is another negative outcome. and any job that doesn't offer medical benefits will have no one to hire. likely driving up wages that will drive up prices. that's just a guess at an outcome though.

If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.

Even on what I made a Stater Brothers above the national minimum wage...lets do that math. 8.75$ an hour. 40hrs a week. $18,200 BEFORE TAXES you would need 2 full time part time jobs to pay for the care and have 16,400$ left BEFORE taxes for bills and living. and yes I said full time PART time jobs...because most minimum wage jobs are part time..they wont ever give you a solid dependable 40hrs. Obamacare could kiss my ass before I wipe...
