I'm surprising my mom by spraying her benz rims, and I bought original plasti-dip but after a few weeks of her driving the black was all scratched and faded, I reapplied with a thicker spray, same problem, scraped it all off and reapplied a very light coat, didn't like the look. Weird since I have used plasti-dip on plenty of friends cars and it always looks nice, but never had rims like this before so I'm assuming it isnt bonding well? So I went and bought rubber spray leak-sealer which looks similar when dry but is more versatile so hopefully more durable? gonna try it on tomorrow. The top coat of spray paint adhered well to the plastidip, so it's very durable, but it doesn't peel off as easy as plastidip does. I peeled up a corner of the plastidip, and when I got to the spray painted area, the paint just flakes up, causing more of a mess than it's worth lol. And when I sprayed the plastidip on it, it dried smooth, but after the spray paint dried and cured, it was left with an orange peel texture. I'm sure that can be taken car of with wet sanding and all that jazz.
