SnowDrifter
3" port isn't enough. You'd risk chuffing. And what do you mean by having the sub load into the port?I know Piggi isn't running much power, but don't make the box TOO big. You will lose back pressure against the sub and higher notes will suffer ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
Piggi3
I mean 3"wide by 13.5 so 40"of port equals 16/cube thats not enuff. And i mean the sub is gonna directy loading off the port wall
alaskanzx5
from my exp ( not with jl though) being at about 16" of port made my boxes peaky around tuning i would suggest closer to 14" per cuft. should give better freq response. and you more along the lines of want the sub as far away from the port opening on the inside of the box. ive been told having the sub to close to the port opening can creat issues with it bottoming out or over excursion. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
