Well, that kinds sucks. O well. Ill just build a new box and see what I can end up with.

Would adding a few more help at all? Give me a bit more all around sound, or just go with the NS in a larger size?

Did they give you parameters for them?

Making a new box made just for my car... been quite a while since I made one, and never made a ported with my own measurements and everything. When making the port do you figure out the needed port length using the total box volume? My box is looking at (realize the numbers are way off now if I am correct) but I was looking at 21.5*12.5*18.5, giving 2.897ft^, so for a 35hz tune I would be using a 3" slot port, 10" high, 20.25" long? After all displacements I would be 2.18 ft^ (little larger than I am hoping for. Trying to get a top firing box & port.

Yea bro I agree the spl version is made for burps but let me tell u from my experience .. When I first got my sa-8v2's I had them on a hifonics hfi2000.1d and they weren't loud at also then I got a hifonics brz1200d and its night and day now those 8's flex everything and my box is tuned to 35hz .. I get complements all the time when I demo for someone and they are astonished that I only have 2 8's they always say I must have another 2 facing the backdoor they can't see it

Box is figured out to an exact 35hz after all displacements and whatnot.

Going to be 12H, 25W, 18.5D with a 2.75" port, 31.75" L.

Does the port length affect the sound at all? Figure with length there will be some friction... idk. As I said, quite new with it all

I have a 4in aero port and it sounds awesome it gets pretty low .. Like I said people think I must have some subs hidden somewhere lol but u also have several things to consider if u have the subs in a trunk they are not going to be as loud as u want or expected them to be.. I have mine the back seat in a extended cab silverado

mine really arent that much further back than they are for you. The Cougar only has 8' of cabin space at best. Where the subs are is reachable with from the front seat

Im going to give this box a try and see if they sound any better. Like I said I have seen so many video's of the 8's and they just seem to be hitting so much harder than mine are. Quite disappointed

The box has been remade... Would this setup actually work? 12"h, 26W, 18.5"L with a 2.75" port 10.5"H, 28.5"L work?

Did you say that they are firing forward? that could be the problem, if its not sealed off. Or it could even be a wiring issue. Are you sure that one coil may not be out of phase. You mentioned a t-line... Not sure about that exact sub, but if you want it to be more musical and controled, t-lines are great, IF DONE CORRECTLY
