sbg Posted February 7, 2013 Report Share Posted February 7, 2013 I just put my amp in today (bb2400.1) so it worked fine on the way to work, and worked fine for a few times today. But I was getting a lot of volt drop.. So I get off work and start driving home, and the amp turns off for a sec and I see that my factory battery volt meter is way low! Ok so it turns back on and is working and I have it vary low volume and am like ok I'm not going to push it.., so I'm driving like 1 min later and I'm not even playing the subs hard at all like volume of 10 on my HU and I see my volt meter go way down again and then I smell the stink! But it's not real bad. Then no more sound. I go home and check out what'd going on and the amp still has power and the green light is on but still no sound! So I take it in side and take it apart and I see no Burt board parts at all! I did have to fix the RCA 1 time in this amp but it looks to be still fine from the 1st fix. Skullz Posted February 7, 2013 Report Share Posted February 7, 2013 Might have blown the subs. Wiring might have come disconnected. You'll need to check everything out before you tear into your amp, as it may not even be the problem. Go through and make sure everything works, IE using the amp with another sub to make sure it works. Check the subs with a dmm and make sure the coils are in good shape and not blown or shorted out.
